Century serves up straight-set loss for Blue Jays — Cavalier Sports news

JAMESTOWN — Bismarck Century was the comeback kid on Thursday night. The Patriots overcame deficits to defeat Jamestown 32-30, 25-23, 25-23. If the Patriots win their last regular season game against Minot, the team will clinch the regular season WDA title and the No. 1 seed heading into the West Region volleyball tournament. Jamestown is now 15-2 in the West Region and 23-7 overall. The showdown in Bismarck was a offensive juggernaut. Unofficially, the Blue Jays tallied 46 kills while Century unofficially racked up 48 kills. Century's Lily Edinger — a freshman — was responsible for 17 kills while Lucy Falk paced the Blue Jay offense with 15 kills. Final stats were not immediately available. After two dropped sets, the Blue Jays came out with a fire under them in the third. The Jays established a 7-1 lead over the Patriots but Edinger scored four straight points to make it a 7-5 ball game. Jamestown surged out ahead again to take a 12-6 lead, but Century remained patient
